About this test

Practice for the FAA Private Pilot helicopter (PRH) knowledge test with original questions. Rules questions are written from the current text of 14 CFR Parts 61 and 91 on eCFR; helicopter aerodynamics, systems, performance, maneuvers and emergencies are written from the FAA Helicopter Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-21B), and weather, navigation and decision-making from the Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (FAA-H-8083-25C). Every correct answer is backed by a passage of the source and checked by two independent verifiers.

  • Study: every question with a short explanation.
  • Topic drills: regulations and privileges, helicopter aerodynamics, helicopter systems and performance, maneuvers and emergencies, weather, airspace, navigation and decision-making.
  • Mock test: 60 questions, 42 correct (70%) to pass, as the FAA Airman Knowledge Testing Matrix (revised 9/25/26) states for test PRH.

The questions are written in our own words; this is not the FAA’s question bank. Chart, figure and computer questions that need images are not included.
